Students are immersed in meaningful communication opportunities that develop skills in listening, speaking, reading, viewing and writing in Italian.
The Italian language curriculum aims to develop the knowledge, understanding and skills to ensure that students:
- communicate in the Italian language.
- understand the relationship between language, culture and learning
- develop intercultural capabilities
- understand themselves as communicators.
ELLA is a digital, play-based language learning program which includes a series of interactive applications, aimed at making learning engaging and interesting to young children. Foundation, Year 1 and Year 2 students participate in the Early Learning Languages Australia Program (ELLA).
The Italian program provides opportunities for students to engage in Italian through the Visual and Performing Arts Curriculum.
In Learning a Language Other than English, students develop communication skills and knowledge coming to understand the social, historical and cultural aspects of the language.
